ur not forgettin to type su , make sure u type the script exactly
I keep trying to flash the 1.4 recovery image and am having no success. Every time I try it says there is no such file or directory. Odd as I have some 80 odd apps on my sd card. I have tried from the stock card that came with my G1. No dice. I am stuck and need some help. Anyone have it as a .zip file? Any advise?

Just drag it onto your sd card when it is mounted, then unmount your phone and type the commands simms gave you a couple of posts above. If your not unmounted it won't work.
It says SU not found

I reboot into the console, not the terminal emulator

You type the commands from the terminal emulator.
