One of the new features of the upcoming update "Cupcake" is inbound and outbound audio streams, I'm pretty sure with this under foot a guitar tuner will just be over the hill![]()
My phone has a microphone, why cant i use it to tune my guitar? I can never find my guitar tuner when i need it, but ive always got my phone handy, this is a perfect opportunity for someone to code up a simple yet hugely useful app.
Whats the feasibility here? can the microphone be accessed by applications? would it be difficult to analyze the audio input for frequency & display that info on the screen?
Its such a terrifically useful idea, has someone already done it & i just havent searched hard enough?
Heck, even a pitch-pipe would do.

Musical in the market has a pitch pipe
There are no stupid questions, only people who refuse to use the SEARCH button.
I would love to have a guitar tuner on here. It seems whenever I go somewhere with my guitar I forget my tuner. This would be a usefull app for me! I could also see it being very popular
i asked the developers of musical if they could make one but they said android wouldn't allow them to analyse the audio in real time.![]()
I believe the app Guitar Charts has something of a guitar tuner in it.
