GIF Background

I was wondering if anyone has figured out if GIFs will work as a background for the G1... if not i would love a APP that would either allow me to create them easily through pictures already on my phone or just find good ones.

I'm not sure if .GIF's would work as a background on the G1. I've noticed that animated GIF's dont' even move. It's just the first frame, and i highly doubt it's on their top priority list to fix the animated GIF problem.

But even if it does support GIF....you DO realize that GIF is only 256 colours total, right? It would defeat the purpose of a 252k pallette screen. Well....unless its something simple like anime or cartoon wall papers that use solid colours....but still.

Actually its just a 64k pallette.

Ok... Sorry guys? I was just asking a question. Plus, I just thought it would be cool to have. Not necessarily conventional or practical on the battery life.

Its a valid idea, just not a huge priority nor practicality currently.

Whatever you do, do not try this! I set a .gif file as my background on my Dell Streak 7, and it didn't work, so I tried changing the wallpaper, and it wouldn't change. I then tried restarting it, but my tablet was bricked! I have no idea if this is because Dell makes ****ty tablets, which they do and don't, or just because of a glitch.

Point is, don't try this unless you are still under warranty! (luckily I was)
