Ghost or Background Programs

I was wondering if there are any programs that ghost run that would slow the performance of my G1. If so can you recommend an APP to turn them off or how can i turn them off... or any other ways to increase speed. Thanks.

no way to turn them off as you know it, with out turning the phone off and back on, but even though they are there, they aren't really running, unless of course its something like locale or tunewiki that's playing music.

Ok, I been getting this error with texts where it askes to wait or forclose... whats up with that? its more annoying then anything.

actually you probably need to try and delete the thread thats causing it, does it have a few hundred texts in it?

one thread of mine that I deleted at five hundred because it was slowing texts, I had another hit around 600 and it actually took some time to delete, had to delete a few other threads first and force close/wait a few times.

I'd guess that total text storage is around 1000 or so at a time, then the program gets really cranky.

oh ok... I remember this happening with he curve but instead it would just freeze for a bit.
