Here's an app that would have 50% of G1 users sending you roses..

A fix for the Bronze model's keyboard backlighting issue!

couple ideas for that..

1) App could set the backlighting to default to OFF and only if a certain easy to execute keyboard shortcut is hit will it turn on. (this stops it from lighting in dim light, and blanking out the keys)

2) If it is possible for the light sensor to be tweaked to where it requires LESS light (ie must be DARKER) for backlighting to turn on, that is another solution.

Not sure if these backlighting elements are even accessable to developers though- any devs know if this is even possible?

CAUSE ITS NOT THE SAME!!! that has to be used through the browser, its not like i can just pop it open real quick AND it isnt (mostly) seemless to the rest of the phone. Plus, well, dang it! I want my maps app to function atleast as well as a java version of it from 3 years ago did. I can do without the street view if i had my pins!!!

Please refrain from continually being off topic in this thread... The purpose was to find out if developers actually read New App Ideas forum... not a ploy to get them to pay attention to one single thread... I still believe there is more developers out there and the number is growing... and I would like to hear more of their opinion of that Forum section...

So if you like to message them about offers of want to make suggestions to them please do so in appropriate threads or try "Messaging" them directly... It would probably help you further than spaming here... Thanks...
This is what this thread was about just in case you forgot... Thanks...

I personally know nothing about programing and developing but I know I have many ideas in my head of what I would try to make if I knew how to make it... so rather than make it myself I type them continously in the new app idea forum... but it lingers in my mind if you guys or gals really look in there... so really.. my question is... do any of you really read that forum and comb out some great ideas?
Yes or no?

I read it every now and then, but so far nearly all the ideas are completely stupid and not worth any real consideration. The good ideas appear to already be works in progress.

Some of the gripes in the base app stack I'm hesitant to put time into in the near term, because I know they'll be addressed in the trunk via early updates. But, that is where I'd likely spend my time when the time is right to do so.

I know this probably isn't the place to post this, but a camera app would be awesome. I could help with the settings, and that's about it. The Dash had WB, ISO, etc. To place a shutter button on the G1 and to not have manual settings for the camera itself is bunk.

Just by six cents.

some of the developers don't even know about this forum to answer your original question. how about we make an app to request apps?
