quick question about the Dev Tools. when going into the development settings. it gives you a drop down box saying No app process Limit. and then the others say 1-4 of Max app process limit. does that mean that if i selected like the max three app process limit, that if i had four running it would close another app, or would it just not open the extra app? or its it something completely different?
I tried it, doesn't seem to do anything. When I rebooted my phone it had changed back to no limit. Doesn't prevent you from opening any new apps and I don't know of a way to see what apps are currently open
If you have the android file manager app it is able to show you all tasks that are currently being run in the Task Manager. As of now you can only see what is running in the background and not kill anything, but hopefully that'll be added soon. In the mean time, you should be able to play around with that and the Dev Tools settings to see if it automatically closes apps in the background after it reaches the max number you set.
My guess is, if it works, it basically queues every process in the background and as you hit the max of 4 (if that is what you set it to) it will kill the oldest app running in the background. If thats how it works, it'd be nice if we could also set certain apps to automatically be killed rather than run in the background (like Maps, cause that seems to slow my phone down quite a bit)
