technically you'd need softwear on your p.c. for that, and Android is it's own new OS so I don't see the point in backing it up to your desktop you can back it up to your sd card

is there any apps (for pc) that is similar to desktop manager for the blackberry...mainly for backing up everything (txts/call history/address book etc)?
also is there any way to port my txts (sms/mms) from my blackberry onto an android phone?

contacts and calendar info are stored on 'the cloud' (a google server somewhere)
Call logs and texts can usually be viewed on your carrier's phone account page. I know I've scrolled through my call and text history at tmobile.com before. There me be an app somewhere that downloads this, I don't know, never heard anyone ask for that before.
