Well heres a long story short in terms of the Journey I've had with my G1 so far:
- First I was able to use "Super" to convert the AVI files I had of a standard 4:3 Cartoon Series which ported over to .mp4 beautifully, it filled my whole 480x320 screen and didn't look stretched at all.
-After watching all episodes I decided I wanted to try putting movies on and this is where it got REALLY painful...
I was able to use an Application that came highly recommended called "HandBrake" and while I applaud its awesome GUI and ability to just select the DVD/VIDEO_TS/.VOB directory or just talk straight from the DVD drive...I find myself at a loss as to how to make this crap "FILL" my screen when watching it.
On a 4:3 DVD it Converts it to 480x320 but maintains aspect ratio so I have black bars on the side but not on the top of the image.
On a Widescreen DVD (Which reads the source as 720x480) it converts over to 480x320 but still maintains an aspect ratio so I've basically got a skinny video-strip playing through the middle of my G1 with both the Top and the Bottom completely black bar'd.
I've read the guides stating to set it to 480x270 or 480x272 for Widescreen DVD's but this problem still persists.
Is there any way to tell Handbrake to just fill my freaking screen and actually fill 480x320 regardless of "stretching" or whatever it might be preventing or am I just stuck with this?
Thanks for the help
