Can't Seem To Root My Phone...

I apologize in advance if there is already another thread on this topic, but I really did search for it.

My phone is currently running RC33, and from what I understand from Geo411m's thread, I must downgrade to RC30.

This is a link to the instrutions I am using.

I can't seem to get past the first step. (Typing the code cd sdcard etc on the home screen.)
I erased everything on the SD card and unziped and copied all the files as told.

Any help would be appreciated.

the first step is flashing rc29 on your phone I believe? I didn't use those steps though.

why didn't you post this in that thread?

I used Geo's steps. After you have the extracted files on your sdcard, and you reboot holding the camera and red button, do you get the color screen? When you see that, press green button-menu-red button together to reboot (I think you can also do a battery pull). On the home screen after the reboot, open the keyboard and press enter twice. That will get you to the "cd sdcard" <enter> step. It will open your contact list, but ignore that and just enter the commands. If your phone reboots itself after typing "sh install" enter, you are on your way.
