BetterCut...

Hey all, I'm trying to change my current icons to a icon pack that I downloaded with BetterCut and I cant seem to figure out how to do it.

I want these icons:



To look like these icons:



Can anyone help me walk through this?

I'm not going to hold your hand through it but I'll roughly get you there since I'm not looking at my phone currently but just open Bettercut and do whatever then you'll see "edit existing icons" do so, then select what you need to and whatever.
Then if its an application Icon pack you choose that to change the icon to.

And of course you could just create a new shortcut and then do the same thing, It's not hard to figure out you'll get it.

well so much for editing the icons, I'm on Cyanogen's 4.1.7 and it fc's each time i try select the edit option. As for creating my own, I would gladly do so if I knew what had to go into "Action" "Data" and "Type".

To make your own shortcut, all you do is open BetterCut, select New Shortcut, then select Activity.....scroll to select whatever program you want the shortcut for and tap it. When it comes up asking you what to name your shortcut, right above the name field, it says Change Icon, tap that and select your new icon.

You do have to have those ICONS stored on your phone somewhere.

Hmm...ok, All is good up until I select change icon. It gives the option of pick picture or crop picture. There's no option for the Icon pack that I downloaded from the market. I downloaded the steampunk icon set in case you need to know that.

I really stopped using better cut but I think that's a managing thing.
Go to your homescreen menu
settings
applications
manage
Then clear the defaults for bettercut and then it should work out.

Well it doesn't support the actual icon pack, you have to have the icons extracted from the pack. They should be .png files, but they may be another image format. You need to extract them from the icon pack and save them to a directory on your SD card using your computer.

I'll mess with it more later, Until then, I installed DxTop and loaded them that way. Thanks, I need sleep.
