I never wiped and had no problem. You can do that, but I feel that may not be a subject you will find an answer to here, as it could also be used to pirate apps.
ok...so i finally figured out how to install apps on sd card. just in time too...i only have 4mbs left on my phone.
here is the problem....i have had power manager and ringtone shuffler since they came out free. most of you already know the devs decided to start charging for it. i would rather not pay for an app i've had for the longest time for free.
due to the fact that i wanna wipe the phone to clear the memory and reinstall the apps on sd, i'm wondering if its possible to back up those apps somehow so i dont have to worry about having to buy them.

Astro file manager will allow you to backup and restore apps...
Well if you're going to move apps to the SD Card then I dont' see the point of wiping the phone. Part of the process of moving apps to the SD card is moving the existing apps and creating a symbolic link. When you're moving the apps to the SD Card, make sure to also move the app-private directory to the SD Card.
If for some reason you still want to wipe your phone and you already have root access, send me a message and I'll be happy to help.
