Thread: Applying Themes

    Default Applying Themes

Hey I was wondering if the files we rename update.zip to use as new themes need to be "read-only" "hidden" or "archive".... I see these three checkboxes when i right click the download and look at properties. I'm not sure what one needs to be checked to work properly. thanks!

what exactly is a theme? does it change the color of the note bar or anything or when you say theme, you just mean a wallpaper?

I assume that this does a factory wipe on your phone while changing all of the said components. Is this assumption correct?

most of themes out now are non-wipe. just make sure your on JF's lastest 1.3 and you have the dev-boot loader. I would also apply a wiped version first before continually applying any non-wipe versions out there.

Thanks for the reply. If they are non-wipe then that would save some time from downloading the apps all over again, but overall not a biggie.

Also be careful about the themes you install. The most are for RC30 only and will bugger your phone up if you try and install on an RC8 phone

Good warning for those with RC8. Luckily, I have an RC30 and will attempt to apply my first theme.
