site need signature limits

some peoples signatures are way too big imo and i've just turned them off in the 'user CP'.
on some threads 1/2 the page is a few peoples signatures.

Well if you have turned them off for your view you have no real worries. Problem solved...

If you do something just to be spiteful, that would be kind of childish wouldn't it? Especially after you complained about it.... but if is too big or outrageous it will be removed or resized. So I guess this would be a warning in that case. I advise you use your better judgement on this and don't try pushing the limits.. Sincerely from the a.c. staff.

we'll it would have been helpful to discuss the problem rather than you've turned them off what the problem reply.
why should i have to turn them off, people tend to have relevant info to their threads such as location and firmware versions and now i can't see that.

You have answered your own question.... if you wanna see what people have in their signatures then set up to view them... otherwise set to not view signatures... i personally like to see what others have got goin on so i dont mind signatures at all with their info in them... it helps to know who you can ask certain questions to...

You seem to be playing both sides of this argument.... if its that big of a deal set up a poll to see if others agree... this site listens to the users and we are more than happy to discuss issues that our users have.

Maybe what should happen is that a persons signature should only show up once per page or once every 3 pages or something. I mean come on do i really need to see all of that info with every post

Despite the fact that it doesn't really bother me, I think these kids have a point. It is rather annoying when you visit a thread and the majority of the characters revealed are below the horizontal line in each post.

A signature is exactly that, a signature. Not a profile, not a website, not a wiki.
You guys should just add more entries to profiles and let people add the information that way. Most of it is irrelevant to me. I only need to know about my firmware, not yours. And if for some reason I do need to know I have the option to click over and find out.

Like I said, it doesn't really bother me too much. But, having more information in the signature than the majority of the posts people make are not a good rep for this forum. Just throwing that out there.
