Just for some comparison, I use bit torrent pretty much all the time.
I used about 45GB worth of upload and 40GB of download for the entirety of October (this info is from my outer so it includes all traffic on my home network that consists of two desktops, and 3 laptops). I don't know what kinds of habits you would have to hit the 10GB mark on the G1 but I can't imagine it would actually be easy to do. |

Just to re-warn everyone the web2go launches Nov. 15-16th. This is also when the Sidekick plan goes way up and the throttling begins.

How can you possibly hit 10GB anyways? I mean, you'd pretty much have to LIVE on your phone every for a month straight to even come close, much less surpass it.

It's unlimited because its a soft cap. Once you hit 10 gb they just slow your internet down, I heard to edge speeds, but I already just use edge so I don't know how they would go about that.
You can go beyond 10 gb if you feel like it. It might just take longer.

I remember at the public introduction of the G1 by T-mobile that they said the cap would be 1GB per month which seemed a little low. 10GB seems very good for a phone.
Regarding the 20mb of browser cache in a day...even if you used the web more heavily up to 50MB of cache per day, that's would only be 1.5GB and you'd still have a lot left for other apps to use. I don't think that with the current state of U.S. 3G networks and the prices, that it is reasonable to expect to run bit torrent or other p2p stuff all day long. |

First of all I don't think that it would be horrible if they set a limit. It's more important to me to have faster data then an infinate amount. Besides most people won't use that much, it's those few people that are constantly using data that slows down the whole network. 1GB is a little low but maybe like 5GB. But the next step would be for them to release an application that tracks the bandwith, because without a way to track how much data your using it wouldn't be fair for them to limit it.

10gb is plenty for a phone. if you're exceeding that, you need counseling or a pc.

I am on wifi all the time so I am not that worried, but last month when I called TMobile they haven't start tracking data usage yet. Don't know the situation of the tracking now.
I have about 600 emails in my gmail. Hopefully syncing my gmail won't eat a lot of bandwidth. |

I'm rarely on the 3G network, only when I need to. When I am at home, I'm on Wifi and usually when I'm out and about I'm on Edge... so none bandwidth hit for me
