    Default How does SMS work on Google Voice?

    Do you need a working cell phone carrier to send the SMS messages, or does Google send the SMS directly? No one is receiving the SMS messages that I send via Google Voice, so I was wondering if maybe that is the problem. I'm on military duty and my cell phone is deactivated for the time being.
