Default data plan

Hi, since i am deaf and i am wondering if they have "data plan" only for this. There is no way i want to waste $ on a phone plan i will never use. I am currently using the sidekick but hope i won't have to use "phone plan" for the G1 when it comes out

That is a really good plan. While no one is 100% sure as to what the plans will be, I am confident that it will be like the Sidekick, Dash or Blackberry data plans so you shouldn't have anything to worry about. It is just good business to give data plan options these days. One thing is for sure, despite T-Mobile's diversity of handsets, they are really consistent with their plans.

also when ever i come home, the connection drops hard. I normally get great connection anywhere but home. it ranges from 2 bars to nothing and disconnects. i really don't know if it's the apt itself. I live on 3rd floor. Not sure if being up this high would affect the connection.

noob question, would 3G help solve that problem?

That is never good to hear. The 3rd floor SHOULD only help because there is usually less between you and the reception towers. 3G is more a faster data connection than improved reception.

guess it's the terrian around me. Hills or it's the building itself which is wired.

OR i got an neighbor next to me who is a UFO freak which put TINFOIL all over his place which is disrupting the connection

Today there are so many different factors that can effect it. One of my friends has so many electronics in his house it will drop full signal with a single step inside his house. I try to make sure my phone has signal especially in my house.

From what I know about WiFi and networks it probably is not the cause. You can always test it sometime. Its more the electromagnetic fields that electronics give off. One thing such as large speakers might be able to do it but not all over in your house, just when near by it.

I hope they don't force me to get the data plan. The tzones package with the new epc.tmobile.com WAP works just fine and I don't need a proxy for port 8080
