Awesome find dude. I followed the instructions and it worked perfectly for me.

I didnt get the status (text) window that you show in your pictures, but I did get the exclamation mark and phone logo. I just pressed ALT-S like you said and it loaded fine. Rebooted once... now reads RC29.

If you want to get the Status text field as in the picture, press "Alt-L" before the "Alt-S"

i just did the update and it worked. i have rc 29 i also did not ge the text screen but my phone only rebooted once. I hav noticed the usb icon when i plug in the usb. i also notice it moves faster when scrolling a long list. I am going to keep an eye on the battery. some have reported bettery battery life. Im going to leave my wifi on just for kicks.

im interested as to how it is labeled as rc 28 yet you are all reporting rc29...

ive already gotten my update on my phone, but i also have an unlocked one to put it on..

is this in fact the most recent rc29 update?

After reading the instructions 8 times I got it to work I got no text just the icon and a status bar rebooted once

Edit: the RC update doesn't have anything to do with your phone going into edge or losing reception/service...I spoke to a csr because I was experiencing the same issues over the weekend (mind you I don't have the update) and he told me that the towers were down in many parts of NYC and upstate and whatnot...that they were working on the dilemma...I haven't gone through the update yet but this weekend would of been a scare cause I would of believed it was due to the update I was experiencing such issues.
