Ok apps are in /system/app, if someone can get root all they have to do is(Im not pro at linux so a confirmation on if the commands below work would be great. For the most part they should be):
mkdir /sdcard/app mv /system/app /sdcard/app ln -s /sdcard/app /system/app and that should do it. Someone has to figure out root for us though. BTW once you connect to the device, run reboot and youll get the fastest reboot ever lol

telnetd doesn't seem to start on mine either. And of course I get a connection refused. Aw, man... were we just duped?

I saw in another post somewhere that you have to start telnetd quickly after opening up the terminal. I tried it and worked on my phone. As soon as I got out of the terminal app, my pc lost connection as to be expected.

I just tried it and I'm pretty sure I was attempting to execute it within ten seconds of opening pterminal, but still no joy.

I used the Terminal Emulator. Even though it should be teh same as Pterminal, possibly download it and try on that?

What else is weird here, is that the permissions for telnetd are -rwxr-xr-x root, so it should execute.
Also, if you do a ls -l, you will see that a lot of the programs look like they are links to a single program called toolbox. Strange. But you can still run (some of) them. For instance, you can run the date command and the df command, both of which look like links to this toolbox program. But you can't run the ifconfig program. I also tried running "toolbox ifconfig" and that gives nothing, just like running ifconfig by itself. But you can run "toolbox date" and that works. I do see that there is a netcfg program that will run and it give an output similar to that of ifconfig. THere are also "service", "svc", and "servicemanager" programs, but I couldn't get any of them to run telnetd. I'm at a loss. |
