My luck sucks. So... would you give me a G1 if I tell you a piece of information that I don't think has been reported anywhere and only if it is proven to be true later on? :P Fair trade, no? Hehehe! It has to do with the G1's chipset

Wish I could man. But I would still like to know about the chipset.

Damn! I tried at least! Well, here goes: the G1 is using the Qualcomm 7201 multicore processor. It is dual core to be exact. However, the cores are not the same. The first core is allocated solely for phone features, i.e. a specialty core. The second core is a general purpose core purely for applications, in order to accommodate more application processing load. Of course, the clock speed will be the same for both. But simply by overclocking the G1 will not see a sharp increase in performance because of this. The 7201 is stable and more energy efficient. However, there are still some problems with the multicore setup that may cause the phone to crash under specific situations. Qualcomm is currently working around the clock fixing the drivers.

    There you go!
