Default Will the arrival of Android 2.0 and new Devices bring an Uncertain Future to Android Phones?

November 6th 2009, a day to be remembered by all mobile tech followers and by those who got the Motorola DROID from Verizon. But also, a day that a lot of people are saying will mark the beginning of the update problems with the Android OS and the different devices running on it.

and another possible problem is me crossing the brooklyn bridge , on foot , and a crazy pigeon knocking my g1 out of my hand and into the cold blue waters below .
there are lots of POSSIBLE problems . pretty much anything can happen . lets look at the ACTUAL problems .

Sure; the ACTUAL problem is that devices such as the HTC Dream does not have room for future updates. ROM chefs are doing a great job, but we don't have any official support.

as much as i love my g1 , and i REALLY love it , i know the life expectancy is not over 2 years . i do believe that it will be supported by updates for most of that period . really , thats the most i could/should expect . if google/tmobile and the rom cookers keep it going , thats just an extra plus .

first generation hardware typically get outdated quickly

did you really expect a superphone to test the market waters? o_O

the g1 is still good, still relevant and fun to mod

... but personally, i dont want my phone to be my computer or my netbook , i DO want a faster phone, but I'm pretty happy with the g1 still and will be till at least next year

not worth updating to these new phones till something really beefy comes out

Yes, the g1's hardware supports the size of the 2.0 edition of android. The Austrian G1 will come released with 2.0 as its stock build. Anyone who's seen the android 2.0 official video knows that screen resolutions shouldn't be a problem as long as devs recode their applications to support 2.0's specifications.

that happened to me!!! no joke! i was walking back to bk and texting/tweeting when all of a sudden, i felt like i was in an alfred hitch**** movie!!! i tell everyone, u haven't met a pigeon until u met a nyc pigeon, and the bk/les pigeons are the worst. its like nyc b4 guiliani, when u were guaranteed to get robbed and have a good time at the same time. now, for the funnier part. my gps was on, and i had locator. went home very digruntled. but a smile managed to stretch on my face when i went online to locate my phone and low and behold, there it was, swimming w/ the fishes in the east river, 1/3 of the way to brooklyn. this happened about a month ago, and for over 24 hours, i would constantly check, and it was still there, like a beacon, crying out for me to rescue it. i tried to put a plan of action together but aside from renting diving gear and still not being able to see 2in in front of me due to the murky waters, alas, i bid it adue! Au revoir pee wee, au revoir... bye simone....
