Its safe to say in general they do not know the department they are in. With no formal training and being switched to several different areas that they may or may not know about its hard to really care. Employees are not even payed enough to care about their jobs. When I go there I know not to bother asking about anything that needs more than a key.
Of course the employees aren't knowledgeable...that costs money which u don't provide when u pay silly low prices. It's a pretty simple business model why complain?
So are these just WalMarts in 3G areas or Wal Marts everywhere?
It's $31 difference. Who cares?
this is a great move by tmobile and google to get more g1 out in circulation. what this means for developers is that they can get their works in more hands... if the G1 gets exposure like the sidekick ( as far as units sold ) then thats more opportunity for the developers that what to sell their apps to make money of course.. but just please we ask dont be greedy.. 25 bucks investment to publish apps and possibly 100 hours of programing.. apps should go for about free - 5.00 max... the reason I say low prices is because if the price is high and only 5 percent of g1 users by the app due to need and higher price, the income potential is kind of on the low side. but with a lower price and higher percentage of android users purchasing its more profit( for those that want to charger ). these apps should be developed for the love of programing and possibly sponsorship with google advertising dollars.
Apps shouldnt have a real charge until they are def bug free.

Don't worry about application prices. Android users will regulate that themselves by simply not paying for higher priced applications.
No matter how endorsed an application is, if someone else offers an equally functional application for a lesser price, users will flock to that instead, thus forcing competitors to either lower their prices or suffer.
@divest: the apps price will regulate themselves yes... but the people making the apps may not realize they would sell enough more apps at a lower price that their profits would surpass the cost of selling cheaper in the first place because of far more numerous sales. A lot of developers I think either don't realize this or don't understand it well enough to put it to use and will hurt both themselves and the people who want the apps by charging too much for them....

impressed me!
I am very upset about the sale of the G1 at wal-mart for $150. I have family that "pre-ordered" the G1 online and are still waiting for their phones to come in. I informed them of the sale and told them to cancel their order and head to walmart. What ever happened to buying a good quality product for a fair price, if they can sell it that cheap only 2 months after the release date than I feel like I've been ripped off.
Has anybody else noticed that the sliding screen is starting to get loose and it feels like it moves alot now?

Any Walmart sightings yet? Or any real indication of where (which cities/which stores) we should expect to see them?
