Outside of this being corrected(which has already been seen by programs like AndNav, and I'm sure more in the future), they have no room to talk because their handsets are boring and too small. I like the G1 a lot more than the iPhone I had(returned after one day) because the price is right and the open community means programs will be coming and never stopping, also the devleopers walking away with 70% profit from their programs means that the prices will be cheaper than other phones with similar markets. When considering a new phone, however, Verizon wasn't even on my radar and I never even looked into them. Turn-by-turn is really all they have on the G1.

Garmin is going to be creating an app if I remember correctly. That would rule out the Turn-by-turn navigation issue.
