While Verizon makes some very real points with this, the thing that they DON'T address is that the G1 isn't static, it isn't locked into it's code at the time of release, and because it has the potential to be updated. Verizon locks and cripples their phones, and once you've bought it you have to be pretty brave to attempt any modifications.
