I currently live in the Dominican Republic and so i have of course an unlocked G1, and i have access to the Market but only free applications,so app that i have purchased, have been through Slide Sam. So it will be nice to have the capability to purchase through Market and with PayPal option.

i think it would be silly to expect iPhone level sales on the Android platform considering the install base is so vastly different at this point.
Another factor may be the cost of entry. For most people, it's WAY CHEAPER to get an Android phone vs. an iPhone(considering hardware + service).. so Android phones, at the moment, seem to have a higher % of teens(who don't have CC's) using them.
Skatturbrain: making $1800 a month would be nice for one or two guys- as a side project. But I'm guessing the developer being discussed is a handful of guys trying to do this as their main source of income.
people are forgetting that one of the main reasons for this is the limited space and being not able to install apps on the SD card, google should fix this asap or this going to hurt them real bad.
As for the 2nd reason, is the payment method, it seems like most people dont like google-checkout, yet i havent tried it yet (since i dont live in the u.s and cant buy apps) therefore should provide alternatives such as paypal or credit cards

THE FASTEST AND EASIEST WAY TO ROOT
you cant take this article too seriously:
1) its just one developer, not a consensus of a mass of developers. for all we know, someone has already made a million in downloads.
2) i cant tell you how many free and try before u buy apps i have downloaded.. if its free (at least at first) im very willing to give it a try. if its cost up front for an unknown name/programmer/app, my willingness drops exponentially to potentially toss money out the door. you want more dl and attachment? throw out a free trial and get us hooked. we have nothing else to go on but user reviews, and one or 2, 1 star reviews is more than enough to not justify the chance... sorry.
3) right now android is limited to 2 phones on the #4 carrier in america. its not like you have iphone/blackberry sized sales numbers. this time next year it looks like there will be 2 or 3 android phones on every carrier if not more. quit bitching. 1800 a month now will prob be 4k a month next year without lifting a finger.
4) if you only have 2 apps and are making 1800 a month, then pop out 4 apps, thats 3600 a month if sales are the same.. see how that works?
5) maybe try changing your description to make it more interesting, and thus more likely to have a purchase... since again, you dont seem to have a free trial, so we only have your discription and user discriptions to go on.
I have never seen these apps that this guy mentions, and I've purchased at least 5 apps in the last month.
I must say though, I only purchase apps that have free (usable) demos, and typically only if they useful.
