I bought two different adaptors from separate suppliers on Amazon. One was a straight through mini-USB to 3.5mm plug and the other was a little brick the split the port into a 3.5mm jack and another mini-USB. The single plug did not work well at all, sound only came through one ear and it was lower quality. The little 2-port splittter works very well, the sound is great and it allows me to power the phone and listen to music at the same time. I haven't tried a data connection through the USB at the same time as listening on the headphones yet, but from what I know about the USB port this will likely not work. One caution is that when the port adapter is plugged in the G1 thinks the mic should come through that port so the phone's mic is disabled. If you get a call you have to remove the whole adaptor.
