There already is an adapter that lets u charge and listen with your headphones. In fact it's sold here through the Android Store. I picked one up and its actually not that big. Of course it adds a little bulk, but it's tolerable.

Wow, I was gonna be preeetty pissed when I first thought that they were upgrading the actual phone, but turns out you can get better adapters (with volume control) for less than $10 on ebay. Still, I just got my G1 less than 2 wks ago and I didn't get this adapter. My dealer must be a little slow on new shipments.

Wow, No one accused you of being jealous. I was expecting an adapter with my pre-order shipment. After all, one came with the T-Mobile Shadow. Dont't tell us you wouldn't go back to Wal-Mart and return you XBOX for the XBOX that comes with a game.

I AM telling you that. Don't go painting me with the same brush you paint yourself. I KNOW what I buy. I don't make uneducated purchases. If I'm reading a box and it says included:

Celery
Tires
Glass
Microphone

I open the package and I find: celery, tires, glass, and a microphone I'm not going to pitch a fit because they guy next to me has a box with cerely, tires, glass, a microphone, and 30 gold coins. I didn't get "jipped." I was given EXACTLY what I paid for and what i KNOWINGLY purchased. He got a bonus that I didn't -- good for him! His good fortune doesn't mean I was short-changed.

It's not about jealousy or envy... I dont know where you got that from... It's about getting the best deal... How about this you buy a computer that has 1gig or ram the next day you see the same computer, same price, but instead has 2gigs of ram... you could be like most people and return it and get that that extra gig for free...

Yeah, I COULD return it and get the extra ram for free. The fact that I could do it, does NOT mean that I am entitled to it.

You asked about the people telling you to cough up $5 and asked why should you have to when you could and should get it free. The answer -- because you SHOULDN'T get it free.

Do something really quickly. Stop focusing on what those who ordered recently are receiving. Remove them from the equation, because your purchase is NOT their purchase. Now with them removed, do this:

Check your order. Examine your invoice. Rifle through your materials. Do they all match? Yes? Ok, good. Now, shut up.

You OPTED to pay x number of dollars for x equipment. If the equipment you received matches what you paid for, you weren't "screwed over." That's elementary, Dear Watson.

I believe TMobile said that the preorders would not ship with the headset adapter and that subsequent batches would include the adapter at no extra cost. There were a bunch of articles on various websites chiding HTC for not including the adapter. Early adaopters opted to buy knowing theirs would not include a headset adapter because they wanted the phone right that instant, or at the very least wanted to be the first on their block to have one.

I don't see what all the fuss is about.

This costs even less then spending gas - going to a T-Mobile store, then stop somewhere to have a drink. I mean seriously.. you pay $35 every month for Internet on your phone. $1 for a song. i mean dont buy 5 songs and buy this for $5.

Its not even like when Jobs slashed down the iPhone price by $200 one month after launch. Ok he gave 100$ iTunes gift card. What do you want $2.50 T-Mobile gift card(using the same calculation ).

Ok forget all that.. Even if you spend Half hour on phone with a T-Mobile Cust Rep and they agree to send you one for free.. Half hour on a minimum wage is $5. you might as well spend those Frigginn Five Bucks and save your self some mind F**k
