T-Mobile G1 now shipping with 3.5mm headphone jack

thought the headphones normally came with the phone :/ got my phone in the mail 2 weeks ago and came with the adapter and earphones

yea.... sounds a lot like the iPhone launch with original adopters getting F**ked out of 200$ after the first month. Would be nice if we atleast had the option to purchase this for 5~ish bucks from T-mobile, that would atleast be a start.

I want the old one... the new one is super long... with the included earphones and adapter that come with the g1, the microphone is below my belt!

Yea, I definately see you're point there and I would totally agree if I didn't have a pair of Shure's that has a cable that separates like 8" from the headphone. So this would work perfect for my needs. Either that or give me A2DP lol

Why? I'm an original owner too, and I'm not upset about this and don't feel that it's owed to me either. I got exactly what I paid for. I didn't get short changed by T-Mobile. They provided me what they promised, and are free to change their packaging and accessories at any time. You buy an Xbox 360 as an early adopter, you get an Xbox 360. You wait, and in time there will be boxes on the shelf that include a free game that you didn't get. I don't see people standing in line shouting, "Hey, give me my game!" And why not? Because it's stupid, and they know it. This is no different.

All the complaints in this thread are just another example of consumers being convinced that all corporations are evil and "out to get them" when they don't wind up on the "pretty" end. Puh-lease! If you feel that way, just stop buying stuff! Certainly stop rushing to the front of the line to be first.

This is total BS! Every piece of technology I buy always compensates for missing items that originally never came on launch time....What the heck! I am almost positive that Tmobile will come up with some idea to help customers. I am also pretty sure thye will release the cord to be sold at retail locations in time. Phone is still considered new, came out this month!
