I wonder if the keys will have a metal type feel to them seeing as how the keypad looks metallic.

Its basicly a new touch technology. "Synaptics TouchPad devices work by sensing an electrical property called capacitance." You can read about it here http://www.synaptics.com/technology/cps.cfm
