Out of curiosity... what separates the mindless iphone cult from the well-meaning, but not excellent spelling, well-respected, intelligent AC community?

My guess: it has something to do with the added availability of apps for the iPhone. Am I right?

My friend has quite a bit of issues with hers. I don't know if it's related to software or just the hardware. It just seems sketchy.

Perhaps the iPhone is so advanced that it detects misspelled words when the owner is making a post via an irony meter?

With the introduction of 1.5's InputMethodService this can surely be accomplished via Android-based phones.
