I will admit that the G1 is about as cool looking as the original Gameboy is today. I bought if because of its smart design and open platform; not for show.

Can someone put half a million in perspective? How many iPhones have been sold? Or Razr's? Or blackberries? Just how much of a market penetration does this represent?
Part of me would actually like the numbers to be a little on the low side, just so I don't have the same phone as every one else, but I do want the phone to be successful.
