yay.......cant wait........actually i can its been a long time lol
I have this bad feeling that the G1 is NOT getting cupcake but future devices will. Sure we can force update, but this would be a very shady thing for Google/Tmobile to do. Only offer updates to newer devices so there is a reason to buy into the new hardware....man that would just plain stink.
Who cares if we don't get Cupcake for the G1 which I'm pretty certain that we will since the phone has not been out for even a year. With a rooted phone you have the potential to take the build from the Magic and put it on the G1.
I hardly doubt Google is going to "osborne" g1 owners... The codebase is fairly flexible to maintain updates.
why are people saying the the g1 could possibly not get cupcake? cupcake is an update for the operating system so any phone running android should get the update...
Google gave G1s to EVERY Google employee as a holiday bonus last year. Do you really think they would do that and not implement as much of the Cupcake branch as possible? Do you think they're trying to get people to quit?
