It appears that many T-Mobile stores tell customers that they do not sell the G1 because they are out of the 3G coverage area. Although all of the stores may have the large posters of the G1 and even a demo model many are saying they don?t sell the... Read more

well there's the problem, the rep said they are a franchise so an indirect agent. Had he gone to a direct store, if there was one in the area, then he probably would have been able to get one
Indirects like this make them all look bad when there are several that are actually really good. |

I don't think thats the problem. I work for a corperation (not going to say which one) but we get marketing for things we don't sell, but they make us advertise. It would cost the company more to split advertising by which stores sell what.
That being said I think that its dumb for a company to almost falsely advertise stuff. I love T-mobile and I love my G1 and have recommended it to people, but people outside the network area need to not be pitched for a phone that will get maybe 25% of the functionality. I feel bad for the person who told that story. |

I hope you're not responsible for marketing the G1, cuz you're currently doing a poor job. |

I feel bad for Mr. Gaiman. I'm probably one of the biggest fans of Sandman and when I saw this on Gizmodo (with the picture of Morpheus and a G1 together), I flipped out, then I was like, aw, bad news. For some hero-type reason, if Neil Gaiman would have bought a G1, I would have bought one as well instead of holding off on a later Android. LOL. Too bad. I wonder what phone he's getting instead.

I have to say I am Sorry if anyone is treated like that at any T-mobile stores but here are the facts...
If you are not in a 3g area the store will not carry any G1's for purchase . only a Demo, however you can purchase the G1 thru any Customer care Rep. The stores have more than enough Documentation to help them answer all sorts of questions about the G1 it is not t-mobile fault if they do not take the time to read it. I tend to agree with the statement that it was an indirect dealer and not a Corporate location. |

I work for a indirect dealer(perferd dealer)and we had a live demo since early october!!! so the place you went to just sucks haha..I live in CT so we cant have them in our stores but we are doing overnight shipping on them which is good. And the best part about it is the Direct store is located 1 min down the road from us and they dont even have a live demo! so it makes us look even better.
