While there's already a Skype client available in the Android Market, it's doesn't offer true VoIP: instead of using WiFi, itÂ*relies on your minutes and data plan.Â* If you want VoIP over WiFi, you may have to wait until the Read more
Google doesn't really "block" anything. They could pull something from the market, but any application can be downloaded and installed from a website.
will still be available from slideme , as is the tethering apps!
Now that's what I call VoIP. The other wannabe fake-VoIP apps are pretty laughable compared to this.

The link is broken what app are you talking about? I thought Sipdroid couldnt use VOIP over wifi yet, it was just having your own sip number attached to GVoice, and Gizmo and crap? anyone care to specify is VOIP over WIFI possible yet without using minutes?
Galaxy Nexus with rooted Thunderbolt as backup phone.
Sipdroid works like a charm. Just search for it in the market. I've successfully used voip over wifi without wasting minutes with sipdroid. (running JF ADP 1.5 though)

Ack, the Talkback link-demon strikes again. Short answer: it's fixed now.
Longer answer: Talkback posts are automatically created when something gets posted to the AC frontpage. It means we can keep any comments in the forum, rather than having a separate comments system solely for frontpage discussion. However, if the excerpt snipped for the Talkback post cuts in the middle of a link in an article, that screws up the "Read More" link you see in the forum.
Right now, the only way to sort it is for an admin to manually edit the broken link; if you spot one, message me or someone else and I'll correct it
