Phone looks nice. Would I pay money just so I can have the G1 but with better hardware?

Cool. Still don't want one though.![]()
duh!
YEAH. I would definitely choose this one over the crappy HTC.
I have this HTC G1, which is really a trash.
it has no flash, and a camera which claims to be "3.2 Megapixels". The camera makes really bad noise.
i bet samsung's camera would be really good not only because it has a flash and it's 5 megapixels but also because samsung also manufacuters digital cams. it makes all components of digital camera except for lens which is from a german lensmaker.
also this HTC G1 i have is PLASTIC, meaning it's more fragile than other phones. i'm always afraid of dropping it.
plus, HTC has a really terrible battery life. ask anyone who has a HTC.
people bought HTC G1 because it was the only Android phone available.
we wanted a google phone, but had no choice other than this HTC G1.
i can't wait for Samsung I7500!

hopefully it will have a ceatchy nickname like the mytouch or bigfoot!
This looks like a pretty good phone. I'm disappointed there's no external access (without removing the cover) at the SD card. Otherwise, aside from a lack of physical keyboard, it looks like some good hardware. The display looks really big and beautiful.
I'd be interested to hear how the D-pad works in comparison to the trackball, and how that tiny home screen button functions in comparison to the Dream or Magic's.
As the hardware evolves, I'm sure a comparable successor to the Dream's physical keyboard will emerge. The Dream, Magic and this Samsung phone have great hardware components, but each are incomplete in their own ways. The Dream and Magic lack competent camera hardware and headphone jacks, the Samsung i7500 lacks a keyboard and easily-accessible SD card slot (though at least the battery doesn't have to be removed to gain access). Put both together, and it would make a killer platform for Android.
The name myTouch sounds like crap. Give us a name like Dream or Magic. The name myTouch sounds like a pathetic attempt to counter the name iPhone.
PLEASE tell me this phone will have GPS and a digital compass...
It would suck if it doesn't, many of the killer apps require these two basic features!
Anyone know if it will have them?
Last time I checked, most phones were plastic. Only a few have aluminum cases.
My brother dropped his once and cracked the screen. I've dropped mine 5 times and has a few scratches. I use the chin on the phone to open Corona bottles, and ask if my friends iphones can do that. Overall I'd say mine is pretty solid, but maybe I just got a good one.
And yes the phone will have GPS according to the specs. I'm sure it will have a compass.
