You have to change your voicemail numbers before you call your phone. And you need to download the program from the market. I just wen through the same thing. Yeah, the last instructions to you said to wait for a text message. Well, they really meant to wait for the email that you probably received already. Follow those instructions and you should be good to go.

They were able to put this out so quickly that I'd bet they would appreciate the feedback and perhaps they can recode it so it can use your contact list if you choose. Probably wouldn't take them long at all to make that change.

I used PhoneFusion on my BlackBerry last year. It sucked completely and never worked. I'm very hesitant to try it on the G1. I currently have YouMail setup which isn't visual, but it works beautifully...

I like it, works great could do without the extra text message though. Works nicely once I got it setup and changed the incoming message. Nice app though. Hopefully they will continue to make it better!

    Guys,
The extra text message is how the phone knows there is a new voice message:

    1) call gets forwarded to phonefusion
    2) they take voicemail
    3) send you a textmessage
    4) their software must be watching incoming text messages from their number
    5) reads the code in the text message (guessing)
    6) pops up with a new voicemail in the app, (info probably gleaned from the code in text message)

I don't like that it doesn't just use push/pull like e-mail. I tihnk if you combine this with youmail then it would be perfect.

But in reality i don't like my voicemail not working if some 3rd party system goes down. I think i'm going to regular voicemail.

Nice try phonefusion, i'm not ready to hand over that function to you.

Hi. Thanks for downloading FVM Plus for Android and the great feedback. I will be posting some more YouTube videos on the app later tonight. Please check them out. Also, we have received feedback about SMS. Here is a FAQ from the company:

    Q. Can I stop the text messages that are sent to my G1 when I get a new message? The message looks like this: PFVM00000900000000000000. And why are they all in a single thread instead of individual messages?

    A. Unfortunately there is a design limitation in the G1 OS and there is nothing we can do to stop these text messages in their current format, as this is a Google restriction within the OS.

    Q. How do I register my Fusion Voicemail Plus application on my G1?

    A. In order for the application to work correctly you must install the application using the Android Market option within your device. At that point you will be brought to a web page to register your account.

Please keep the emails coming at androidfeedback@phonefusion.com

For those wondering about the text messages you receive every time you get a voice mail, I emailed phone fusion and here was their reply...

    Good Afternoon:

Unfortunately, there is no way for us to stop the sending of text messages when a new message is received. this is a Google restriction.
