LOL, for those of you that dont know android is an open source system.
So if i remember right android is going to be able to be installed onto any phone. Because android is more like a web browser really, people can upload there own programs/apps to it. Which gives the android a real nice twist to it. |

it looks rather fugly... At a nearby strip-joint their slogan is.... "Thousands of beautiful girls and a couple ugly ones..." I think the same thing applies here... Capability wise I think it's a good phone... but I would prefer manufacturers taking the negatives of the G1 and making it positives in addition to the positives of the current handset...
It seems like everyone is starting to make a "Just good enough product" when it should be... "Better than the previous"... I was reading the news and they said "...one thing Steve Jobs does purposely is make products that are hard to reproduce and imitate..." I'm not an Apple fan-boy... but I believe he makes a good point... With Android there will be multiple phones... and regardless of the manufacturer they will still be grouped as Android phones... They should take some pride in that... and present a product line that exceeds expectations... Sort of like when a famous artist makes several painting for a show... he won't present the one that looks like crap... and signs his name on it... because he does not want people to think of that art... that design... as a representation of his capability... Yeah, when I was looking for an iPhone alternative, this was the first thing I came across. I decided that the hardware was inferior and overpriced and the software seemed immature (at that time).
I'm SO glad I found out about the G1! |

I think its simply a matter of configuring it to fit the hardware and then successfully flashing an Android rom successfully over the existing framework.
