Default HTC Says all the Android love doesn\'t mean WM is dead

I think I can speak for lots of smartphone users out there when I say that Windows Mobile isn't the most popular OS for a smartphone with many users. HTC has been making big news recently with several major Android-powered handsets.

However, HTC says that all the Android love doesn't mean it will be forsak... Read more

I don't understand why they won't just let it die.

They are just flogging a dead horse with WM.

Seriously, everyone I know with a winmo phone is not a big fan, they either don't like it, or they're just OK with it, never really pleased, so unless winmo 7 is gonna have something big about it to put it back in the game, nobody will care that much.

Wow, talk about a lot of hatred for WinMo... If you all are curious as to how things will be with WinMo 7, google search the Zune HD. It is more or less an idea of where things are heading. In my opinion, based upon those videos of the Zune PREPRODUCTION action, WinMo 7 is going to be a force to be reckoned with when it is out. The Zune HD uses the snapdragon 1 ghz processor, as will the future of Windows Mobile phones. In fact, if I recall, and read correctly in other forums, it might be the absolute minimum for processsing speed required on WinMo handsets (if not true, it SHOULD be... haha). I don't know if this is correct, so don't quote me, but "sticking a fork in it" so to speak is nonsense. They are already reassessing the recipe! The future of Smartphones, WinMo, WebOS, Android, Apple, ETC is going to be absolutely INSANE.

The beta versions of WM 6.5 look fantastic, wait until you play with this rewritten OS before commenting on how poor WM was prior! Apparently they're also looking at remarketing the name 'Windows Mobile' to something a bit snappier (Bing maybe?) as they don't believe that the .1, .5, denomination shows the software is changing enough for the end user to really want the '.' difference.

I dont think Microsoft is going to let it die. Although I am not a big fan of WinMo, if they fix the bugs, improve on the navigation and processes then it could compete with Android and Apple's Mobile OS.
