yeah they could've done away with the weird hinge and added a 5 row keyboard i mean the hinge is cool but not that cool

    I agree man-

I would be alot more excited about this one if they hadn't mucked with the keyboard and 4-rowed it. The full qwerty is one of the things that made the G1 great and now they crippled it.

On the one hand, theres no chin area- the keys go the full width across, which I assume will make for easy typing, but comeon, they def had the room then to do 5 rows and a Dpad or something awesome.

I'm not gonna jump on the G2 unless I see that the rumoured "new sidekick" doesnt materialize or sucks.. and project emerald doesnt do it for me.

I wish theyd get the Samsung Epic on Tmobile. I'd probably go for that- they keyboard is dakine.

    4gb internal memory??

i might buy this if atleast 2gb will be available for app storage

sorta like how the 2gb/8gb internal memory on the vibrant is used for apps

How much number crunching are you doing that you will actually need that 5th row for numbers?

I'm concerned about the placement of the usb port. Its on the lower left side. Seems like it would get in the way of 1 handed operation when plugged in.

Of course I don't prefer but I'm sure I'll get over it! I'm now also pretty proficient with Virtual keyboards including Swype!

I am pretty good at a VK so typing is not an issue for me, i want the keyboard for gaming so four our five row is not that big of a deal for me. I do wasn't to see how much of the memory is for apps though, as none of the apps to memory cards don't seem to work the best. I certainly will not pre prefer the G2 ,i have never done bought a phone with out using it first.

I have the G1 (rooted) and would like to see the G2 in person before I make the decision to pre order it. Overall I like the look and the 4 row keyboard but I wonder how long it would take for 4G to come to my area. I almost had my G1 a year before 3g came to my area.
Proud owner of a Tmobile G2.

    I have a dream! A HTC Dream a.k.a G1. Finally rooted.
