    4 row keyboard? BAH!!

It's nice to see an AT&T 3G Android phone, yes. But lower resolution? Smaller screen size? AND A 4 ROW KEYBOARD? ... That just completely undoes the sexyness of this thing. It's like seeing a hot babe walking down the beach in her micri-mini-bikini ... until she opens her mouth and you see she's missing every other tooth, and they're all incredibly crooked. And then she talks with a shrill voice.

I call this one a fail.

(This looks a LOT like the picture of the HTC Memphis, that was leaked early in the year, as well)

    User Preference.

I prefer the G1 with the circular 4 buttons vs the Lancaster's 5 umm small rectanguish buttons.
I prefer the G1 trackball over the Lancaster's big button?
I prefer the G1 spaced out keyboard over the bunched in keyboard of Lancaster.
I prefer the G1 bigger screen and resolution over the Lancaster's.

I prefer the Dream over the Lancaster, seriously what kind of name is Lancaster? LOL.

    Son of a BITCH!!!

Mabye I'm just lookin at the picture and not the specs but this looks like its the same size as the magic but has the slide out keyboard which is a MUST for me. I thought the magic had the same size or larger screen *shrugs*. Seems like some folk are a bit jealous of this phone defending the G1 and all. lol Did you think there would never be another phone with a slide out? lol

Flat out it looks better than the G1 to me. I wanted to support Android by being an early adopter but I'm not gonna lie and say there aren't nicer looking phones than the G1. The Magic with a slide out is the best thing yet. I can see I'll be wanting to switch phones alot in the future.

    *EDIT*

Finally looked at the specs. Somehow I get the feeling its not going to keep those video specs.

AT&T won't put an Android device in direct competition to the iPhone, at least while they have the exclusivity on the fruity phone.

Anyway, the Lancaster running for a USD 99 will be competing head-to-head with the Palm Eos and the Motorola Heron/Iron Man for the pockets of savvy txters/tweens on the Ma Bell.

I was just thinking the same thing. How much of a push do you figure AT&T will give this thing, considering Android is poised as a major competitor to the iPhone? If they were smart, they'd push the hell out of it, draw in the non-apple lovers out there. And they're forced into a bad deal with apple to keep the phone, they'd make more with Android.

Wow it is funny how all of you guys hate on this thing before it is even released. I am on ATT and I want an Android phone. The thing is, I don't want to be with a different company nor do I want to buy a phone for a high price. With that being said, this is my only Android option and I think that it will be a good phone. You must realize that this is an Android Community and that we will all have Android regardless of what the phone looks like.
