That's a moot point. Once they've finalized the cupcake branch into a RC-quality build, as she puts it, no one will have any problem compiling it (the source) for the G1, even if Tmo/Google were to make the official G1/Dream Rc31/v1.1 an 8-bit C64 emulator with a Nokia 1100 feature set. It's the beauty of open source, as she's saying in the quote above.
