Great review, looks like a really nice phone. If it comes to Canada I might just upgrade for the Camera and headphone jack. Looks like the my Magic with the Hero ROM is exactly the same though (speed and app wise), good to see.

Surprisingly tricky to catch! It only lights up when a new SMS message comes in, as far as I can tell, so I'm going to have to send myself a text and cross my fingers I get the shutter timing right!

i usually dont like onscreen keyboards but if it works good in widescreen i might get a hero.

i still dont get why they put a trackball on those kind of handsets... what do i need it for?
I'll definitely be covering the on-screen keyboard options in the review. First-impressions are that the new auto-complete system HTC have put on as part of Sense is FAR better than the standard Android system.

Again, this is definitely something that I'll be highlighting in the review. Short answer: it works (http://twitpic.com/ajhp8)

    Chris,

Any idea what the other LED on the left side does?

cause the Hero has DUAL LED as i read in the specs.

and there's a light sensor on hero also right.

I'd be interested in a battery life test, say with some heavy internet/flash playing, heavy talk time, really put it through real world paces. How much battery does it take to, say, watch a 45 minute episode of Diggnation or play an hour of retro defense.

nice catch... i just looked at the pic and it looks like it has 2 leds at top and the track ball lights up as well... very nice! unless on top one is a led and the other is a light sensor...:/

WOW! Thanks chris for doing a partial review. I really can't wait.

I hope its not asking for too much but I would like to see a full section review on just adobe flash itself. I really want to see if it can play flash games well like say on (addictinggames.com), how are the games that require a keyboard going to work?

I also would like to know if flash on myspace or imeem would work that plays music will also work. Im really curious in these two features. Hopefully you can cover them. We'll be waiting for your review
