WOW! Thanks for the free credit. I signed up, downloaded the app and called Nigeria. Got the $5 credit like they promised and the call was no different from calling with my yahoo voice or buying a phone card. The big difference is myglobaltalk is CHEAPER and I can call right from my phone without keying in PIN numbers or waiting to get home so i can use my laptop! I tired Voxo and iSkoot and none worked as well as this so thanks a lot AC!!!
Before anyone gets too excited and gives up all their personal info to this company, I'd suggest going to their website, myglobaltalk.com, and check the rates to the countries you call. I did, and found it much higher than what we pay now. My wife calls the Philippines -- this company charges 20.6 cents for Philippines, which isn't competitive at all. We pay 14 cents to call from any phone to cell phones in the Philippines at click4prepaid.com -- have used it for years for Philippines and Mexico. Very reliable, quality of calls is excellent, and if no answer, you do not loose credit, as with many services.
All I'm suggesting is ... do some research before you sign up.
Ok I think that was not directed at me because if you can read I clearly listed 3 companies that are more expensive than globaltalk. Yahoo voice which I have been using is 25c/min, Skype which has iskoot is 25c/min, voxofon is 19c (i found it too buggy so i quit), peezy is the same and myglobaltalk is 14c plus it has the best UI. Every country is different so your rates to the phillipines may be more! Do some research and ask questions before you get all excited and start hurling insults!
Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'd definitely suggest going to My Global Talk's rates page and comparing them to whatever cellphone plans you have currently. We reckon a lot of people could save money - plus get free credit when they sign up through AC - but you should check first.

Signed up anyway without knowing about the free $5 - it's a great product!
