Re: Extended G1 battery life anyone?
I personally do not feel like the bulk is worth it. I feel like I buy smart phones for big power in a small package, and the general directions of microprocessor technologies is to reduce the overall size of our daily devices - therefor seemingly doubling the size and adding to the weight just seems like a step in the wrong direction.
I am interpreting the G1 as a device to help me realize just how badly we need alternative power for our consumer electronic market. The future should do away with all of our wiry mess.. I have like 7 phone chargers... SEVEN! I have 1 uglying up my BMW, along with my BlueAnt charger, 1 at my office, 2 in my laptop bag, and a few at home, 1 at my girlfriend's. This is ridiculous, but necessary, and seems a little primitive.
I have heard of the military using hydrogen fuel cells in mobile devices such as sat. phones.. I can;t wait for this tech to drop. let';s just assume its true and the gubment has been using them for 2 years now, so we'll see them in 8.. Too long..
I think I am going to invest in one of the Seido batteries, but not the 2600mah. The 1400 or w/e it is offering up to 15% more seems like it would be enough to get me through the days so.. Nothing that beefs up the case though..
Retrospect: I also carry an AT&T Blackjack because I need to have both carriers and I like the tethering speeds I get with it. I have the expanded battery and larger back for that device, as well as 3 extra standard batteries and at least the expansion back for that phone still seems like it was meant to be. I even think I like the larger back a bit more because it feels like I could throw it a bit farther but.. That G1 back is just ridiculous. Have you seen the one where the indent is just the shape of the battery, so it looks like your device has some sort of rectangular cancer...?
