One of the things that I hate the most about buying smartphones is that the price you see typically isn't the real price of the phone. You have to hope for instant discounts and often you need to mail in rebates.

That's a great deal for Hero in comparison to Unlocked versions selling now!
Don't know if I wan't to jump ship though.
Sprint was my first mobile provider, and I had to check my bill every month for inconsistencies!

Well that's great news, for Sprint users. All I know is that everyone I know who had/has Sprint talks about how much it sucks and I'm definitely not signing up with them just for the Hero.

I believe that is an incorrect photo of the Sprint Hero. The Sprint Hero looks like this

Not only shady, but just not very good in general. They've got horrible service as far as I know. The only thing they've got going for them is their 3G network I do believe.

yeah dont get me wrong their coverage is crazy good around here but they have the worse CSR and customer service in general

Another decent phone becomes a USA only toy. If it isn't GSM it's not interesting, at least for me. I travel way too much. Of course, I could always stay at home at watch NASCAR...
