g1 is my us phone
here is my international/hong kong phone
The HTC Touch HD hardware kick iphone 3g ass in almost every way, except for the resistive touch screen, if they plan to release this in the US, I hope they switch the screen to a capacitive touch screen.
Even though it is running WinMo, it has such great software that all the test have said it still runs flawlessly. Just blog it. Im so pissed this phone is not coming to the US!
Without giving it a capacitive touchscreen (glass) it would be a bit of a tease. Workable, but not as fluid as the hard glass surface on the G1. While the current Touch HD might have a responsive screen as far as WinMo goes, it would be a nagging disappointment with Android.
The HTC Touch HD is the first device that really deserves the title of an iPhone killer. It feels as nice as Apple, but it's Windows Mobile. I could test it for a review in German:

We at Areamobile.de also made a video about the HTC Touch HD with English subtitles. To switch them on, please click the red button down right in the Youtube video player. You can find it here:

Like I said before, I heard that HTC isn't going to put ANDROID OS on WinOS branded phones that have been released.
So most likely it's not going to be on the HTC TOUCH HD.
Hopefully it be on something better, personally I can't wait and see what Motorola will pull out with an Android device ...
I have not received my G1, and I am already thinking of an upgrade.
I was a bit disappointed that the HTC Dream was chosen initially as T-Mobile's Android for a couple very shallow reasons:
1. For a handset to compete with the iPhone, why not give it a complete touch screen interface?
2. The G1s style would be more acceptable if it was launched in 1998 instead of 2008.
Personally I think, gadgets in 1st generation are trial and error things.
If the gadget flops, there won't be a 2nd generation. I think the appeal for first generation G1 is for developers to come out and developer programs for the OS. Not that us regular consumers are in it for the ride, we're basically the lab rats testing them out. That's my take![]()
No thanks. The Touch HD looks great, but it's a touchscreen only phone. On the other hand:
