how to download apps not in the market?

I see there are few websites about android website and they all have download link but I dont know how to install them to my phone. some of them look really nice and I want to try them. I can't wait till google puts on the market. I need a notepad

Some of the apps havent been updated to work on 1.0 so if it doesnt work its probably because of that

Off market apps you need to go into settings/applications/manage applications/ then select the app you want to uninstall then uninstall...

i prefer this method because you don't have to click why you want to uninstall.
