Default [Review] GigBox - Powered by Last.FM

Hello all! It has been a long time since my last Review. I stumbled upon a great App in the market which is great for fellow concert and big event lovers! It allows the user find an event in their area with very little pain. But keep reading on for some other GREAT features in this great and FREE app!

Skatturbrain gives this application 4 stars!

    GigBox - Powered by Last.FM

My first impression was great for this application. It looks great, is user friendly, and creating an account is quick and painless. They give you an option to use an already existing Last.FM account or to create a GigBox member ID and password. GigBox does not ask for a ton of information which is great for privacy.

GigBox allows each user to upload a profile picture of themselves if they would like.

    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Logging In

Logging in is also very easy and quick. I am a little disappointed that there is no option to save your user name or password. Luckily GigBox does not ask the user to log-in every time the app is launched.

    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Searching for Events/Concerts is EASY!

GigBox allows the user to choose three different ways of searching for Events/Concerts. (Search by Events, Venues, or by Artist). When searching by Events or Venues GigBox already uses the users Geo-location to find the venues and evens in the area. (GPS NOT required). I am slightly disappointed that there is not a quick way to go to a concert listing that is a few months ahead without having to scroll through all of the choices. But that is something that I can live without.

GigBox also allows each user to check off what Event/Concert they want to attend so on the GigBox home screen there is a quick view of what Events/Concerts are marked off as "I'm Attending this Event". This also serves as a reminder to help the user from forgetting the Event/Concert.

If you want to learn more about an artist at the
Event/Event/Concert GigBox allows the user to find out information about the band/acts at the Event/Concert. At the bottom of the event GigBox shows the user what bands/acts are going to be at that concert.

Lastly, GigBox gives the user an option to find the Event/Concert and even get directions. The options are Google Maps and the web browser.

    ----------------------------------------------------------
    GigBox LIVE

GigBox Live allows the user to have live chats with other people at that venue/concert. There is also options to take and upload a picture for the Event/Concert and also rate the Event/Concert.

    ----------------------------------------------------------
    GigBox Review

    Pros:
    • Great UI (Clean, organized, and easy on the eyes).
    • Easy to sign up and log in.
    • Allows user to log in with an already existing Last.FM account.
    • Gives three great options to make finding an event very easy.
    • Give option to find out more about the band/artist without having to launch a separate browser.
    • Allows user to communicate with other fans at the Event/Concert.
    • GPS not required for GigBox to find Events/Concerts in your area.
    • Allows user to find event and get directions on Google Maps. (GPS may be required for this option.)

    Cons:
    • No user name and password saving feature.
    • No way to quickly filter.
    • No option to buy tickets or a link to Ticketmaster.com etc...

    Final Review:

This application will be a new favorite for sure. It gives me the options I need to find an event/concert that I want to attend and I can get quick directions or artist information all at my fingertips. No longer having to filter and search through Ticketmaster to find the event that I want (except for tickets of course). Plus its all on the go for the very active lifestyles! Pick it up today in the Android Market. You will be glad you did!
