Default Beebplayer - iPlayer on your Android Device

Hi All,

I searched the forum and was surprised noone has picked up on the Beebplayer.

Its a great app that allows you to watch the BBC iPlayer and LIVE BBC channels on your G1/Magic.

App is FREE but only works for UK users with 1.5.

Check it out, i think its fantastic.

You can follow the developer here http://twitter.com/johnsto

Downloading and installing now, will hit you back with the news.

TT

Edit = Does not want to work on my G1 it downloaded and installed fine and all the menu's work but when I try to watch anything from old to current content including live feeds it brings the same message up "Sorry, this video cannot be played." I am attempting this over 3G so will give it a go over Wifi tonight but so far dissapointed with the result. Looking forward to updates etc to get this working as I would find this app really useful.

There is a known bug which mean it does not work over 3G with some Tmobile customers and a few Virgin Media customers over Wifi.

Doesnt work for me over 3G at the moment but does over WIFI with Virgin.

As I said, developer was made aware of this yesterday and is investigating.

Damn why do I always have to be one of those "few people" things dont work with, lol. hopefully he can address this and get it working as it will be worth a download, I will hold of rating it on the market until he has had time to fix it.

Thanks for

A)Bringing this app to my attention
B)Taking the time to inform me about the problems.

Cheers guys!

Yep, the 3G problem is a huge concern of mine. We're still trying to work out if it's (a) T-Mobile blocking iPlayer, or (b) the BBC blocking T-Mobile, but a volunteer is helping me sniff packets which should help shed some light on the situation. I'm on O2 which is why I never encountered it before I put it on the Market!

As for Virgin, that's just weird...
