Access Android MArket from non-android OS?

I don't have an android phone yet. But I would like to check out the apps to see if they are what I would be needing. Mainly, I would like to compare to iphone apps since that is what I have now. But there is almost nothing on the http://www.android.com/market/ for me to view. I've looked around and it seems the only way for me to view them is to go buy an android phone and access it from there. That sounds like backwards logic to me.

Seriously, how can I make a decision to buy a phone that is HEAVILY dependent on applications if I cannot see what applications are available.

Anyone know how I can view the market from my PC (or even my iphone)?

BTW, I have found most apps are free on Android whereas their equivalent on iPhone are paid....
