"According to several sources, Sony Ericsson is planning on releasing an Android handset by summer 2009 and a company spokesman has gone on to say that the first models will be on the higher end while it will release more mass-market devices at a later time. In addition, HTC is said to be working on a whole portfolio of Android devices, also with an expected release date of summer 2009."
Along with Motorola, LG, and Samsung which have rumored android phones to be available by Feb 09.
2009 looks like a good year for Android & I hope that MS Mobile goes extinct because of it!
Looks like every mobile company want's a taste of the Android OS.![]()

Sweet! So I wonder how many AC'ers are going to re-up on their handset ASAP and how many are the type to ride a handset out until either it, or the technology it employs is dead..
This HTC Dream is a keeper in my book. Im not planning on switching phone's anytime soon. Well not for another 2 year's anyway.

I'm going to jump ship on the phone itself as soon as a phone with a better camera comes out. I can't stand the camera on the G1 aside from that it's ok but there are some features that will keep me if they ever fix like the friggin bluetooth issues. I love Android OS though.

What happened to the extremely overpriced X1? LoL!
I'm definitely going to wait and see what the new devices look like, and get my hands on one (or several) if there are improvements to the camera and battery life (which I'm killing quickly due to frequent usage). Won't be selling my daily G1 or my reserve set though![]()

All you need in life : Love, air, water, a G1, 2 spare batteries and an unlimited data plan
All I can say is buy a camera! It's a phone, it does what it does best (call and text). Those functions on the G1 are superb (IMO) and all the Google Apps get me through quite nicely as I use them on a daily basis. The camera is a fuddy duddy add-on. To be honest, I would of been happier for them to of left it out and add other hardware to it.
If you want a phone with a camera, get a Sony Ericsson.
Will be interesting to see how other companies will incorporate the software on their phones and how it's marketed. Any new phone with Android will be a win over Apple.
not exactly, it'll come down to the phones hardware and physical features. The G1 specs weren't too bad, but could be better. There is still a lot of updating to go about with this OS to implement features future phones will work with (such as the touch keyboard.. if the software sucks, an all touch screen phone may suck too)
